Song for Japan
After the tragic events that Japan suffered on March 11, 2011, I wanted to create a place where people could share their love and support for the people of Japan. Song for Japan is a web app that allows people to upload a message which is turned into a living song, eliminating the barrier of language and creating one voice of love.
English Version
The homepage shows a stream of messages left by users and a prompt for the visitor to share their own message. Their words of encouragement are then transcribed into musical notes which are played over a back track created by Aya Nashina. All donations are used by members of Save Japan Benefits in the Tohoku Region of Norther Japan.
